48th Birthday Celebrations

I had a great Birthday celebration! Got great gifts and cards,DVD,Moosehead Gift Card and a Lottery ticket that paid a dollar!
Bestest of all a HAND-MADE card with a lot of thought and love in it! It was wonderful.
I missed my daughter,Paul and Oliver who couldn't be here cuz he was sick. We missed Shane,Caitlyn,Elinora,Ashes and Nate too who all live so far away. :-(
The sleigh bells are great they remind me of one my Grandma Hayes gave me so long ago.....
The Windsor rocker although to dainty for my big butt is beautiful and feeds my Antique addiction! Thanks Ash for the "Oklahoma" DVD love it!
Thanks for all the food, the cake and great company!
Genevieve there has never been a better gift in my life. Thanks for everything and THANK YOU GOD for all my blessings!

Big scare with our Mastiff Mariah today!

We thought we were going to lose our Mastiff Mariah today.
She all of a sudden started acting like she was in pain, panting, pacing and gagging.
Sure signs of deadly bloat. :-(
My great wife rushed her to the Vet where they too thought it was bloat but that maybe they caught it in time. I am now at home praying for my big girl!
Xrays proved negative,BIG RELIEF,but something was still putting her in distress.
4 Vets and a battery of tests and the only conclusion is Urinary Tract infection Don't get me wrong but HUH?
Actually she got GAS-X too for all the air she panted in! :-)

So she gets pain meds and antibiotics and she will be fine!

Who'd a thunk I would be a wreck and Jenny would be the stalwart one!?

She's the best and I adore and love her!

A post Thanksgiving BIG O visit and a makeover!

We had a great visit with the BIG O and his Mommy and Daddy!
He is so big and NEVER sits still!
He absolutely loved touching Mariah's nose and giggling.
He wanted Madison but we are still being careful with her and him.
She was afraid of him and then got used to him and licked his feet!
He laughed.
We love you Oliver and WE MISS YOU NORA!
How do you like the upgrade on the windows? Not bad huh?

Another "new" Antique!

This is a 18th Century wooden
fire sceen. It was used to block
the fireplace when you did not
have a flue. Of course Jenny
loved it and had to have it!

Oliver's visit

We had a great visit with Oliver and Boo and Paul.
Thanks to Jenny's Dad for the great Fire Truck! He had given it to me a couple years ago and it came in handy! I bet he knew it would. I am sure he was watching and smiling while Oliver played with it and danced to the siren sound!
We miss you Nora and really wish you or we were closer! More than you know.

A few "new"things..... ANTIQUES

These are 2 recent purchases! One is a Southern Antique piece called a "Huntboard". Myth has it they were taken outside after the Fox Hunt and you could eat your lunch right from your horse!

The next one is an English Wall Clock from the early 1800's made by D. Douglas, with a Face painted by William Finnemore I,maybe from the late 1700's. COOL!

Shane we are running out of room and need you to take the Hoosier! :-)

Final resting place and a Tree that will stand up to anything!

Here are some pictures of the planting of the tree for William Carl Nahorn and the final resting place for his ashes.

Back from Maine......

This is not how they wash kids in Maine!

Well we returned from Maine yesterday...reluctantly. Everyone who has never been there asks Maine? Are you crazy? Well view the pictures and you tell me?
We had a great visit with Shane,Caitlyn and our wonderful Grand daughter Nora!It was a relaxing adventure as these trips ALWAYS are with Jenny! Weather was incredible! Upper 50's and sunny! Saw deer,Eagles sitting on their nests and in flight. What more could one ask for? Oh yeah a damn MOOSE! Where are the MOOSE?? Retirement can not get here fast enough.
We managed to feed our passion, antiques. We bought a beautiful Pennsylvania cabinet from 1800. Also purchased a Mocha bowl in green so all was not lost in our never-ending search for that RED piece of mocha ware!
Blew out a front axle on the way up in Pittsfield, Mass! But Pete's Subaru saved the day replacing it and having us on our way in less than 45 minutes! Didn't have anything to do with speed of travel though! ;-)
